Is Sticky Fingers Cooking® on Your Vision Board?

As you set goals for yourself this year, could becoming the owner of a successful franchise business be a way to achieve them?

Making a new year’s resolution is a tradition that goes back thousands of years when people were wanting to fix their mistakes and do better in the coming year. Although the early versions of resolutions were tied to religion, today’s secular practices are still a way of focusing on improvement of the self.

One research study found that 3 in 10 Americans made a resolution in 2024, but only 9% kept their resolution. The same study showed “49% of adults ages 18 to 29 made a resolution; 31% of those ages 30 to 49 made one; and just 21% of people over age 50 committed to a resolution.”

Where do you fit into these statistics and what do you want to be proud of a year from now?

Connecting Your Resolutions

There are a number of ways to map out your plans for improving your life: you can make a vision board, write down a list, set yourself up with an accountability partner, use and activity tracker, and more.

When you create a visual reference, or talk through your goals with a trusted friend, you might begin to see how your ideas overlap and you can build on one to achieve another.

The most common resolutions are to improve health (eating better, losing weight, quitting a vice, and so on) and/or finances (earn more, save more, create better work-life balance, etc.).

The Sticky Fingers Cooking franchise opportunity might be your solution! Think about it: if you become your own boss, then you can decide how much time you spend at work and therefore establish more balance between family or personal time with work time. Also, if you strive to eat healthier, there’s no better way than teaching kids how to master this through our thousands of original recipes.

Among the Good Housekeeping 2025 achievable resolutions you will find “cook new foods” and “learn to love vegetables” and “jumpstart a new career.” We couldn’t agree more!

Sticking to Your Plans for Self-Improvement

Changing patterns and taking chances can be scary and difficult when you get started and sometimes it’s like a big ball of string where you can’t see the first thread to pull.

Here are few ideas to help you get started and stick to your dreams in 2025:

1. Connect with a mentor or accountability partner. We might be biased, but one of the best parts about franchising is that you have a built-in community of people who you can reach out to with questions or to help you be realistic. Franchise owners might have more experience than you or they might have unique expertise that can help you be your best!

2. Take your biggest goal and break it down into as many smaller objectives as necessary to make it possible. Think of it like planning a road trip where you have to make stops along with way for gas, food, lodging, maybe even visiting others or taking pictures—this can be fun and serious as you check the boxes.

3. Keep checking in on how you’re doing with meeting your goals. Maybe you have a written list that you check once a month, or you set up a meeting with an advisor to see if things are on track. Each time, you can adjust the plans as needed so you stay on track.
